Original signed plein air painting.
 
Took a morning off last week to drop into a location I had noticed a couple days earlier. A very nice stand of a couple of gum trees with a backdrop of hills. I had initial thought I'd paint the larger of the trees, but with the light and as a I walked around looking .... I decided on the larger tree. You can still see the larger tree in the background on the left.
 
The morning started with bright sunshine which is where I took my inspiration from. This is another fauvist painting, highly sought after.
 
I was really thinking about the fall of the branches. As it quickly became overcast, and eventually rained on me (!), the light passage is very gentle rather than the more saturated light of full sun days.
 
Best framed although you can also hang just as it is, or leave it propped up onto of shelves or side tables. Very easy to bring into your home.
